Null Island is the point on Earth's surface at zero degrees latitude and zero degrees longitude (0°N 0°E) where the prime meridian and the equator intersect.

Null Island: Midway between the North and the South poles where the Equator crosses the Prime Meridian.

Crossing the Equator

Today we crossed the equator at the prime meridian, also known as “null Island”. This imaginary island is located at zero-degree North and zero-degree East in the South Atlantic Ocean. This point is where the equator meets the prime meridian. While there isn’t an island, there is an Ocean Data Acquisition System Weather Buoy known as “Soul”, permanently anchored at zero-degree North and zero-degree East.
