Private tour with Shore Trips & Tours (Hobbiton Express) - LOTR Movie Set Tour
Peter Jackson spotted the Alexander Farm during an aerial search to film the Lord of The Rings trilogy and thought it was perfect for Hobbiton. Set construction started in March 1999 and filming began in December.
