Day 45 Salvador da Bahia, Brazil - Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People
Our Lady of the Rosary of Black People (established in 1704) took almost 100 years to be built by enslaved members of the Brotherhood of our Lady of the Rosary. The church was built during the night so that it did not conflict with the enslaved members daytime chores.
