Day 43 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Corcovado and Rio Highlights - Jane and Jack.
Christ the Redeemer, art deco statue of Jesus Christ, stands 98 feet tall with arms outstretched 92 feet to the city 2,300 feet below. It’s located on Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park.
We rode through the city to the Tijuca Forest at Corcovado and boarded a 115 year old cogwheel tram at the base of Corovado Mountain for a 20 minute ride to the top of Hunchback mountain. After that, we took an elevator and 25 steps to Christ the Redeemer and views.
